im sorry for replying late due to unavailability of internet. thanks for your posts. ill check the links posted right now. and legos can you please quote the price of your laptop, the system seems fine but it appears to have a relatively smaller lcd. i here write again that budget is not a problem. and my dad doesn't like changing his computers too often. therefore your suggested rig should work flawlessly for atleast 2 years, ofcourse, without becoming obsolete.

i bought it for £999 which is almost equivalent to Pak Rs.140k. As your father wanted it so in my own suggestion i would say that smaller sizes are easier to carry rather than 15.4 and 17 inches. There was a laptop with similar specification but its not available in market.
I would saythat if you know anyone from USA, ask him to buy one for you because laptops are quite cheaper in dere as compared to U.K and in US based sites you can have laptop of your likings.
you need to first finalise screen size before deciding laptop, i would recommend most acceptable screen size for laptops is 15.4"
If you are good on budget then go for Sony Vaio FZ series (hi-brite screen) its best executive laptop, im using it from last many months.
its compact/solid and No other laptop comes even close to Vaio FZ hi-brite lcd picture quality. Its equipped with high definition lcd.

Well if you ask me, the better for dad is to have light weight laptop, which smaller screen size and be able to carry around easily while travelling and easy to setup. Such laptops if you go for low end are available from asus, msi and other companies, but if you are looking something better go for HP 12" TX something the same Bilal had. laptops or from dell as well. I am using one and its super light weight and does all the work from watching videos and playing non-high end games. Dell and HP my cost you around 1000$ or so.
