Xbox controllers!

Just wanted to confirm that the Xbox 360 controller is compatible with pc's rite?

If you have a Wired 360 Controller they are compatible with windows but if you have a wireless controller then you need to have a 360 Wireless Receiver for PC like this :

what about that play and charge kit, if we connect the controller through that wire, will it work then ?

Nope thats the charge & play kit specifically for Xbox 360 only not PC
