ptcl experience

hello guys,
ok i got a new 512 connection. ooh i thought maybe ptcl will be ok i think i got it on 6 march. ok guy came says got no signal of modem or something ok he says will get it patched ok. comes back says its patched sets up some modem setting and ips ok. net runs fast ok now afterwards net speed varied or looked like not working some nights and days at times today it died at 2pm can't browse or open any website. called helpline said you signal or dsl blink light if blinks too much you got line problems or what i mean the tone is a ok so what now? is this supposed to happen and right now got it settled with the tech guy all the setting and all pings and wings and now its starting to run again maybe they were working or not they helpline says the net is on ? so are we supposed to go all the way to the phone pole for joints ? checking ?

15th march they told me for 2mb upgrade...

Eman call helpine and tell them your problem and be insistive to them to make things run for you.

I dont think we actually will get complete 2mbit ... it will be 1.54 or something like it.

i have similar problems in beginning of ptcl dsl.

after a week struggle i found that all problems occurred due to b***der of installation guy.

he put wrong ips and also configured my connection with username & password of some testing account.

one day i called helpline and spent 10 mins and configured all setting from scratch ,,,, and it all went fine.

I never let ptcl guy to make intallation, most of the installtion people are noobs and dont know what they are actually doing. I made my account set myself its not that hard once you know what you are doing. All i got from them is the information required like vpi n vci n etc...Btw i never recommend using their modem, for me where people spend high for good system its wise enough to spend a bit extra on dsl modem and get something like Paradyne.

no, it will be full 2mb.

So far, 1mb has been working fast as ever. Should be upgradded by the 15th. No complaints here except for the delay, but its expected.

hey guys, thanks for your replies i found out one more thing you have to have direct connection from phone pole line without joints or noise or the modem won't go static and run. well its a long procedure time to call mr.line man and yes ptcl is giving modems with no real brand name. hmm is LDN giving better?
