Here's how to port-forward, for any people who don't know how to do it.
For your information, I'm using a LinkdotNet DSL connection and have an Aztech DSL605EU Modem. And since I can't post more than 4 pictures, I'm including a .ZIP file with screenshots. The screenshot number is the step number here.
1. First of all, start off by opening your browser and type in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. This is usually default, if not, check the modem's manual.
2. Then type in the username and password; usually the defaults for both are 'admin' (without quotes). You'll be logged in and see the following screen:
3. Now, you need to browse through the available options on the left-hand side; where the Menu is, and you'll find Application. Hover your mouse over it to find Port Forwarding.
4. After clicking on it, you'll see this:
5. Click on the User radio button:
6. Open up the program for which you need port forwarding (mine is uTorrent) and go to its Settings/Preferences and find out which listening port it uses. Mine's is 35389, yours could be anything. Just remember, if its set to randomize each time, you'll have to change the settings for the current port number all over again.
7. Now, remembering this port number, go back to the Port Forwarding page again and click on New.
8. Now, just fill all the three fields with your port number and give it a name. Then click Submit, and go to the Port Forwarding page and the User tab. You'll now see the new rule you just created.
9. Click the rule and click Add > to add it to the Applied Rules list.
The major part's over now, just click Submit and then from the left-hand side menu, click Save Settings.
From what I've heard, new PTCL users are getting Shiro modems. Shiro is the distributing branch of Aztech, and my friend has told me that their menu's are almost the same.

yaar there is no diffrence with port forward and sttuff unless eg u want to make a counter strike server or a web server ...nyways here's a better way to do it...this connection is temporary and opens all ur ports...+ if u DC the connection and connect again get a new ip...this means rapidshare is OWNED..
ok i am uploading all the pictures in this zip file follow the process and UR done!
for ptcl DSL users pls convert ur modem from bridge to routing mode in order to use this method

lol hassan this will work only when u are on manual dial not on auto dial in new modem u are getting of aztech both wireless , normally, now installation team configure it for 24 online not for manual dial for this u have del u connection which u have made already in ur router settings.
nauman bhai ...its not wat u think it is ....just connect the connection and all u have is the direct IP provided by LDN and all ports are open...its better than port forwading each port 1 by one...and when u DC ur back again to the old connection with ports blocked...

:s surely you mean it the other way around.. on aztech modems at least you turn off the dhcp server and set it to bridging mode and THEN you config your username and password on your other router or computer..
no...what i do is just connect the connection that i told u ion the post above and thats it....no changes in Aztech modem...for ptcl i think we need to convert to bridge mode...atleast this i what ive done at school and at my friends place...
port forwarding is not hard, just goto [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] look for your modem model and follow instructions they make it very easy and they got instructions for almost every game/application and almost every modem in the world
ive actually managed to get a good setup, i have a wifi router, and i managed to create it hotspot like, you just connect to the network and internet starts working with dhcp, and my computer always gets assigned the same ip with static dhcp mac assigning, so port forwarding works fine..
as i said this is also a way...but through this u have 2 open the specific ports 1 by one..which is time consuming but as fas as the connection goes..it opens all ports at once..
