umm .. who said anything about having to disable the dhcp on the router..

just take a straight lan cable and connect the adsl modem and the router.. make sure u plug the wire into the WAN port of the router ..

and thats it .. turn on ur router.. connect ur laptop.. and it should work

change IP of your router to 192.168.1.2 (default is 192.168.1.1 and it conflits with PTCL modem)
select DHCP -> PPPOE and enter PTCL username and password
both options are in main menu of router admin
plugin LAN from ptcl modem to router internet port
ull still have DHCP for ppl connecting to router

but first you have to switch the shiro to bridge mode.. btw you'll have to enter the vpi:vci settings again.. one is 0 (the field which is above) and the other is 103 (the field which is below).. then you can set your router to PPPoE.. this way your router will get the actual IP address and you can configure your DMZ on it...

I did this yesterday and it works like a charm

Well the easiest method with lesser hassel was ti disable DHCP of your wifi router and Plug in DSL model cable in LAN or Router rather than WAN.
