Need help, DSL issue
Ok heres the prob ive been facing.
Net works for 15-20 mins then all browsing stops, even though the lights on the modem are still stable. And the strange thing is I can STILL download torrents, but i cant connect to msn or browse. Ive tried changing the lan card but that didnt help. GOt a new modem, also no help. 100 rep points to the person that gives me the fix for this.
The only way i can get back on the is to restart my pc.

some ppl are claiming that this is because PTCL is having international link problems. i think the problem is probably to do more with their dns server since the torrents keep running (as the connection in torrents is already established thus not needing the dns, unless you want to update from the tracker)
as to restarting your pc is concerned, it maybe because ptcl might be load sharing until they resolve the issue. so when you connect for the first time, after restarting (thus flushing all temporary connection parameters) you probably get recognized as a new connector to ptcl and thus get priority.
but if it is a problem with your computer, there can be many issues, that i cannot bring myself to write
virus, trojan, worm, lan card issues, adaware issues, firewall issues, too many connections being opened by your torrent client, etc etc etc

no man its not torgon... neither windows had nything to do with it.... if u unplug ur modem a/c and replug it it will solve ur issue as well rather then restarting ur pc..
because m facing the same prob and some times it remains consistent means nether restarting my pc nor restarting my modem do anything.... its all due to ptcl upgradation

Yupp, its not a virus or any issue like that as I keep my pc very clean.
Ill try unplugging the ac when it does freeze, atelast thatll save me from having to reset my pc each time. PTCL was just at my house, man these guys dont know jack shit. They have offerd to change my "pairs" to see if that works, which will be done tom morning.
How long have u been having this prob? For me its been 13 freakin days. I was out of town for a few days but will test on various pcs/laptops now to see if the problem still occurs.

Well its alot happening on my end that internet stops working for couple of minutes and than it gets back working again, but in my case nothing works from msn to browsing. But its weird that your browser stops working and rest works same. It seems the problem is somewhere with your http or browser, can you try some other browser and see it problem remains the same?

Updated drivers, ran all virus checks, spyware, adware, etc, lets see how long it lasts now.
If it stops again, ill go for the full, sad, windows reinstall.
(and i wasnt serious about 100 rep points :P but if it does get fixed ill hook all of you up with some)
