ptcl dsl issue
Hey all, im having a problem with my ptcl dsl Its connected to my wireless rotuer and working fine on my laptop, but on my desktop which its connected to via ethernet the packets are being sent but none are recieved, hence no pages open etc. Ive checked the ping and am getting a reply etc, anyone have any idea what the issue is? Ive been on the phone with ptcl a few times today and as always, they are dumb ****s without a proper answer.

My knowledge is not much regarding this but i had a similar problem when i was trying to connect my laptop to my router. I was able to connect to the router and to the internet but only a couple of websites were opening. All i did was i used TUNE UP UTILITIES to optimize my TCPIP settings and everything started working fine.

no wonder i didnt see u online :P lol!
try these simplest things first if u still havent...
1 change the LAN wire.
2 Switch the wire to another port on the router.
3 connect the lan wire to the laptop and check the net.
4 connect the pc directly to the ADSL modem without the router.

bilal ure best bet is to reset ure router..by pressing the reset button on it...or by restoring factory defaults from the interface at 192.168.1.1.......... and set it up all over again in PPOE mode...with ure modem in BRIDGING mode...and set the user pass and stuff...
and also do try No.3 highlighted by mephisto..
hope this helped..
