electricity backup issue with worldcall

i m on 512kbps, its like giving away 1200rs for free...

i don't get wc service 8-9 hours daily coz they don't have any backup for electricity skipping, registered complains and visited area office several times, but they always say it'll take time we'll soon solve this issue blah blah...

does anyone facing the same issue?

btw i m from iqbal town...

No issues here either...

however i do have a simple question:

When we signed up for world call, the contract was (in my case) that i get a 768K connection 24/7 for a whole month for Rs1800 per month.

Now when they fail to deliver their end of the bargain (slow speed in my case), why are we still eligible to pay them the full price? Is it possible we can drag thier ass to the court with this?

well yes if u have that much free time since well it clearly stated that they would provide you 24/7 service you should be able to unless there is some fine print and i said free time becuz cases just drag on and on


also on the topic my area (new muslim town) had the same issue but for the past 3-4 weeks the tv and internet work even when the electricity is out how can i say this well because right now the electricity is gone and em on a ups

im in defence BB
same issue
whenever the lite goes no net..
but when it comes back
net takes like 20 minutes to set up..
the modem i mean
..i called them and the team that came to take care of this told me everything is fine on ur side..

its just that we are having issues with our UPS systems..
they are responsible for internet blackouts

i'll consult my friend's bro who is a lawyer...

when i came back to pak i installed wateen after disconnecting worldcall due to the same problem, but a guy from local area office came to me and said we have installed generators and i was like no bandwidth cap, i should shift back to world call... the generator worked well for like 5 days and then all crap... i visited local area many times, wrote several mails and called them every day every time when i didnt get their service and they finally installed it after 1.5 months... and hardly 1 week after same shit started to happen again....

i have asked several times to give relaxation in my bills, and what they did... they gave me relaxation of 100 rs ... i was like wtf 100 rs meray sey lay looo...

i cant shift back to wateen now, i dont wanna pay 8k the first month... and the cap thingy... i visited link dot net and they said that we don't have any ports open in ur exchange, it'll take like a month to complete the upgradation process... about ptcl i cant have it either coz the modem didnt sync have to wait till they increase their range or install fiber optic (which will gonna take a decade)...

but legal thing is good, r u guys sure that they have written it on the form that they'll provide service 24/7? i would have already sued them ager yeh pakistan na hotaa...


edit: do u guys think that writing mails to PTA will bring some help? and Zamust what this comsumer act is all about?

Well im not sure about the contract - i do remember reading something like that when i first got the connection (thats like eons ago on a 256K connection). However we should be able to get a copy somehow from the main office.

Next time i go over to pay the bill (should be around 20ish this month), i'll ask them to give me a copy of the contract.

Lets see what we can pull up from this.

Sueing is a long procedure - but it will still be a strong argument from our side that could get us discount on the bill.

One advice, only mention suing/lawyers/court to WorldCALL if you are serious. Don't attempt it as a bluff. The moment that you mention court, the helpline/technicians will then say that Sir, now all your coversation/problem etc has to go through our lawyers and your problem will be compunded as they won't do shit about your problem till they get their lawyer involved.

On the other hand, complaining to PTA is very effective. But that was before Salman Taseer was governor. I have complained to PTA 3 times in the past about Worldcall, and worldcall's response to that was great. My problem was solved within days, a high up called me up to inquire if everything was all right and gave me his number abd said to call him up if anything ever bothered me. (Lost the number). But I again lodged a complain regarding Worldcall recently via the PTA website, but did not even get a confirmation mail. So I guess due to Salman Taseer being governor, they are letting Worldcall go easy.
