Cellphone in Washing Machine..

Hey..

Okay so my moms Cellphone ended up in the washing machine..
Dont as how... Okay so i've taken it out.. and haven't turned it on.. Can it still be saved in anyway?

open it up, use a blow dryer and carefully try to get all the water out. Be carefull not to burn the plastic parts with the heat from the dryer. Other than that, all you can do is pray and turn it on hoping it works (also, if it doenst work, it could be the battery, so ud wana check that, that is, if the screen still functions)

only turn it on after yur sure its DRY it theres water in it and you turn it on yull certainly short circuit it.

The Warranty's gone.. Obviously now.. Shall i open it? and then dry it with a hairdryer?

im saying open as in remove the back cover and battery, that should allow u sufficent air flow inside to dry any wet parts if they can be. I mean you dont have much to loose, the set is either working or screwed so might as well try.

ALSO before you do anything, is the battery "puffed up" and "swollen" ?

If so, DO NOT try to charge it as it may short and expode, burn out, on you.

Same happend to my Samsung X700, it remained in water for about 20 mins. I took it out. Dried it from out side. Than took out the battery and used a Blower to wipe out the water and than placed it in sun light (Remember to place the set in sunlight upside down, meaning your battery side shoud be up and screen should be down). Did the same thing in the second day and walah after 8 Hours of sun bath i turned it on and it worked perfectly fine.

The suns gone in Lahore Atm... I have it infront of the heater... But not close enough to melt it.. Just give gentle head.. and its Immersed in Dry Rice.. I read on the internet to put it in rice.. since Rice absorbs water...

EDIT: The battery isn't swollen.. it looks perfectly fine.. the phone just has water in the screen... =/

just let it rest for a day or 2 and keep on drying it... phir bismillah par kar on karna if u think it's fully dried enuff...

maybe i missed it, but u didnt mention which fone it was.(make/model/etc)

best u dry it out in the sun for a little while under a cloth or any fabric but dont leave it unattended. I suggest a bedroom window or something.

if it works ....sell asap and get ur mom a new one.

if you mean sell it without telling the buyer about the incident :\ THAT is a very very very lame advice :\ you would not be happy if someone did that to u :\

if you mean to sell by telling they truth, then he wont get much money for it.
in both cases a lame advice :\

my advice. let it dry in the sun in for a few day straight (heater may not be as good). Do not be quick to turn it on or you might loose it. so take your time, and let it dry completely.

it should be fine hopefully if you dry it well
